Le Liban traverse une nouvelle phase d’escalade le long de sa frontière sud avec Israël, dans un contexte régional devenu particulièrement instable. Les tensions se sont intensifiées après les frappes israéliennes et américaines contre l’Iran et l’annonce de la mort du Guide suprême iranien Ali Khamenei, événements qui ont rapidement ravivé le front libanais du conflit. Le lendemain, le Hezbollah a lancé une salve de roquettes vers le nord d’Israël, présentée comme une riposte à la mort du dirigeant iranien. Israël a répondu par des bombardements visant plusieurs régions du Liban, notamment le sud du pays, la vallée de la Bekaa et la banlieue sud de Beyrouth, Dahieh, accompagnés d’ordres d’évacuation et d’opérations militaires près de la frontière. Entre frappes aériennes, incursions et mouvements de troupes, de larges zones du sud du Liban et de la vallée de la Bekaa se retrouvent à nouveau sous la pression du conflit. Dans de nombreuses localités, la vie quotidienne se poursuit dans une atmosphère suspendue, marquée par l’incertitude, les déplacements de population et la crainte d’un conflit régional en expansion.
Lebanon is entering a new phase of escalation along its southern border with Israel, within a regional landscape that has become increasingly volatile. Tensions rose sharply following Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran and the announcement of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, events that rapidly reactivated the Lebanese front of the conflict. The following day Hezbollah launched a salvo of rockets toward northern Israel, described as retaliation for the killing of the Iranian leader. Israel responded with airstrikes across several areas of Lebanon, including the south of the country, the Bekaa Valley and the southern suburbs of Beirut, Dahieh, accompanied by evacuation orders and military operations near the border. Amid air raids, incursions and troop movements, large parts of southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley once again find themselves living under the pressure of war. In many places daily life continues in a suspended atmosphere, shaped by uncertainty, population displacement and the growing fear of a wider regional conflict.
