Paris, FRANCE: French President Nicolas Sarkozy (R) and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown give a joined press conference at the Elysee palace after a meeting, marking the start of what both countries hope will be a warmer phase in cross-channel relations, 20 July 2007 in Paris. For their first encounter in office, the two men discussed the gamut of international issues including global warming, Darfur, African development, the Middle East and Iran's nuclear threat.
