La ville de QARAQORUM (Kara Khorum) ancienne capitale imperiale mongole. Quartiers de yourtes et de maisons construites en briques. Qaraqorum (Harhorin) is the former imperial capital. Established in 1220 on the strands of the Orkhon river, the gengiskhanid capitale was destroyed entirely by the Ming troups in 1380. It remains only some vestiges, protected since 1961: two turtles out of granite, the bases of a palace, the lions in stone, two phallic columns and some traces of irrigation channels.
