Reportage sur un des ateliers de selleries du Groupe Lim leader sur le marché mondial. Ils sont implanté dans plusieurs endroits en France et a l'étranger avec plusieurs marques et ici nous sommes en Dordogne à Saint-Estèphe. Ici Michel Marques Da Rocha pour éviter l'usage du chrome utilise un procédé ancien 100% végétal. Les peaux sont brassées dans une énorme lessiveuse appelés "foulons" ou l'on ajoute aux peaux un mélange d'écorces et une fois le brassage fini on vérifie la qualitée en coupant dans le cuir. Here, Michel Marques Da Rocha avoids the use of chrome by using an ancient 100% vegetable-based process. The skins are stirred in a huge digester called a "fuller", where a mixture of bark is added to the skins and once the brewing is finished, we check the quality by cutting into the leather.
