Ils y apprennent les sourates du Coran en arabe qui devient leur "première langue". Les plus fortunés d'entre eux peuvent ensuite poursuivre leur scolarité dans des établissements privés plus onéreux (5-10 dollars par mois). Mogadishu, December 2006. All children, both boys and girls, have to go to school until the age of five. Their "primary schoolî is the madrasa and they pay one dollar a month to attend. They learn to recite the verses of the Koran in Arabic which then becomes their "main languageî. Those who can afford it, go on to more expensive private schools ($5-10 dollars a month).
