An Afghan woman wearing a traditional burqa, carries her ration bag on her head while walking through the street at the Red Cross (ICRC) distribution center in north Kabul. Wheat, cooking oil and lentils are distributed to 10,000 widows and 50,000 children on a monthly basis. Many years of war and political instability have left the country in ruins, and dependent on foreign aid. Kabul, Afghanistan, 27/11/2001
