Young Afghan boys live with their family in the ruins of the Russian embassy which became a shelter for some of Kabul poorest residents following its destruction after the Russian withdrawal in 1989. The Russian military returned to Kabul for the first time in 12 year with a fleet of some 13 vehicles in the street of the Afghan capital destined for a new permanent Russian embassy in the Afghan capital.
