Turkish Muslim faithful made their way to the Istanbul landmark at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque after the first Friday prayers in 86 years, the former great Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sophia being converted into a Mosque during a official opening ceremony, that once was one of Christendom's most significant cathedrals, then a mosque and museum a Muslim place of worship. Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan joined thousands of worshippers at Hagia Sophia on Friday for the first prayers there since he declared the monument a mosque once again.
