French health workers wearing a protective face mask with the slogans during a protest against Government policies and demand better employment conditions for hospital workers in Paris. Hospital unions have called on their members to take part in a nationwide one-day strike and demonstrations. Their longstanding demands include improved pay and conditions, increased public funding and an end to the prevalent system of short-term contracts for bio-cleaning and hospital staff.
