Afghan Female police officer Fawzia Ziral 17 years old, Afghanistan's refurbished National Police Academy in Kabul, The new premises, reconstructed by the German government, replace the old academy which took a battering and was eventually destroyed after years of fighting in Kabul. Officers from the academy will work alongside the international peacekeeping troops in Kabul. Women were brutally beaten, publicly flogged, and killed for violating Taliban decrees.
