Burning the U.S. flag by Militant Islamic in Tehran, the Iranian Muslim students followers of the Imam Khomeini line have stormed the U.S. embassy in the Iranian capital,Tehran, and taken 66 Americans hostage in Tehran, 11th November 1979. All the diplomatic staff and personnel were taken hostage and kept in captivity for 444 days. the students have demanded that the Shah of Iran, who fled the country in January, be extradited from the U.S, where he is currently receiving medical treatment for cancer, to stand trial in Iran.in February, Ayatollah Khomeini, the leader of the revolution, identified the US as an "enemy of Islam". 02/12/1979
