The Shah's imperial army Armoured personnel carriers, (APC) units parading down Shah Reza Avenue. Following the success of the revolution, this road was renamed "Enghelab" (Revolution) Avenue. Faced with mounting threats, the Shah declared martial law in September 1978 and imprisoned many suspected opposition leaders and protestors. Tehran, IRAN -1979
