STROMBOLI ISLAND (SICILY), MEDITERRANEAN SEA – JUNE 2018 : The landscape under the Sciara del Fuoco on June 25, 2018, in the Aeolian islands archipelago, Mediterranean Sea. Under the Stromboli, the underwater landscape is entirely shaped by volcanic activity. Ashes, large boulders, volcanic bombs, and stones resulting from basaltic eruptions were found on the seafloor. All these elements were ejected at altitudes of a few dozen to a few hundred meters, before falling and rolling down the natural toboggan formed by the Sciara del Fuoco.
