MANGAREVA ISLAND (FRENCH POLYNESIA), PACIFIC OCEAN - JANUARY 2023 : A pearl farm is overflown in the middle of the lagoon of Mangareva island on January 21, 2023, in the Gambier archipelago, Pacific Ocean. The pearl farms of the Gambier archipelago produce around one third of the Tahitian pearls, which represent the second economic resource after tourism in French Polynesia. On the island of Mangareva, black pearls are carefully cultivated around these structures built on stilts above the coral reefs.
