STROMBOLICCHIO ISLAND (SICILY), MEDITERRANEAN SEA – JUNE 2018 : View of the Strombolicchio on June 24, 2018, in the Aeolian islands archipelago, Mediterranean Sea. Located less than a mile north of the island of Stromboli, Strombolicchio rises to an altitude of 43 meters. It was formed from one of the oldest volcanic manifestations of the Aeolian islands. Without water or arable land, this islet is unhabitable and has been frequented only by the keepers of the lighthouse, which is now automated and powered by solar energy.
