PELAGOS SANCTUARY (FRANCE), MEDITERRANEAN SEA - AUGUST 2020 : Observation of a group of long-finned pilot whales (Globicephala melas) surfacing to breathe on August 15, 2020, in the French part of the Pelagos Sanctuary, Mediterranean Sea. Long-finned pilot whales are marine mammals which present lungs for aerial breathing. Their breath-holding capacity rarely exceeds 10 minutes, at depths generally between 50 and 200 meters. As cephalopods are their favorite food source, they are efficient hunters of octopus and squids. (Photo by Alexis Rosenfeld/Getty Images)
