PELAGOS SANCTUARY (FRANCE), MEDITERRANEAN SEA - AUGUST 2020 : The Blue Panda sailboat (WWF) is joined by a group of long-finned pilot whales (Globicephala melas) on August 15, 2020, in the French part of the Pelagos Sanctuary, Mediterranean Sea. The Pelagos Sanctuary is a vast area covering 87 500 square kilometers, created by an agreement signed in 1999 between Italy, Monaco and France. Its aim is to protect the marine mammals which frequent its waters, including this group of long-finned pilot whales, curious about the Blue Panda sailboat.
