In the Mediterranean sea (Marseilles), French astronaut Jean-François Clervoy (European Space Agency) attended a life-size test of « Moonwalk ». This new scientific program, financed by the European Commission, includes the developement of spacial trainings on the hilly submarine landscapes in partial gravity, to simulate the next spacial missions to the Moon, to Mars and to asteroids. Hervé Stévenin (ESA), head of the neutral buoyancy trainings at the European Astronaut Centre (Germany), oversaw the test. Jean-François Clervoy wears a specific suit, called Gandolfi, a mix of a diving and a space suit invented by COMEX, a submarine engineering expert French company, and members of group Dassault. He sticks the European flag and takes samples with specific tools.
