Echinaster sepositus, l'étoile de mer rouge est une espèces très commune dans les eaux méditerranéennes nord occidentales. Habituellement à cinq bras, il arrive parfois de croiser certains individus possedant six ou sept bras. Celle-ci n'en possede que 4, il s'agit certainement d'un morceau d'étoile de mer ayant régénéré une étoile entière. *** Echinaster sepositus, the red starfish is a very common species in northwestern Mediterranean waters. Usually with five arms, it sometimes happens to cruise certain individuals possessing six or seven arms. This one has only 4 arms, it is certainly a piece of starfish having regenerated an entire star.
